Vegetable oils are fats extracted from oleaginous plants whose seeds, nuts, almonds or fruits contain lipids.

Vegetable oil production has increased in recent decades to meet growing demand.
In 2021, global production of palm oil - the most widely produced vegetable oil - was over 75 million tonnes. The main palm oil-producing countries are Indonesia and Malaysia.
